The Oak Hollow Golf Academy is dedicated to serve you, from beginning golfers to the most advanced players. Our Objective is to maximize your talent and potential, as well as your enjoyment of "The Greatest Game". Our Academy Instructors have more than 65 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping you achieve your goals.
 

Through our own experiences as golfers, we have developed an instructional program designed to help you improve your golf and enjoy the benefits for years to come.

We have added a way for you the student to track your rounds with our New Round Spotlight Card and follow the improvements you make as you play golf throughout the year(s). Store these sheets in a folder, and bring them with you to let us know how we can maximize your growth through lessons, giving you a recommended path to follow.

Steve High-Head Golf Professional

Steve High has been a member and the P.G.A. of America since 1980, and has been elected to the P.G.A. of America's Quarter Century Club. Steve currently serves as Director of Golf for the City of High Point over Oak Hollow and Blair Park Golf Course, a position he has held for over 25 years.

Steve is the co-founder of the Bud Kivett Memorial City Golf Championship, which began in 1977. He has taught countless junior golfers though the High Point Junior Golf Program for the past 30 years. In addition, Steve has conducted numerous golf clinics and instructional programs over the years, not to mentions hundreds of private golf lessons. Many of Steve's former students have gone on to play collegiate golf.

Steve now also serves as the director of the Oak Hollow Academy of Golf, which brings quality, professional, and affordable golf instructions to the triad area.

Jimmy Bayne, Jr. - Teaching Professional

Jimmy Bayne, Jr. has been the Teaching Professional at Oak Hollow Golf Club for eleven years and was instrumental in starting the Oak Hollow Golf Academy in 2005. He has been using the V1 Swing Analysis, the Professional Golfers Association's video teaching software of choice and used by the world's number one golf instructor David Ledbetter, since 2005. Jimmy is a Certified Callaway Club Fitter. He has taught several golfers who have gone on to play both collegiate and professional golf.

Jimmy became a member of the PGA of America in 2000 through its new Golf Professional Trainning Program. Jimmy was a member of the golf team at High Point University, and in 1995 with a B.S. Drgree in Accounting. He also played events on the Carolinas Mountain Tour with several top five finishes.

Jimmy has worked under the tutelage of Steve High, Head Golf Professional at Oak Hollow Golf Course, and John Buczek, then Head Golf Professional at Forsyth Country Club, now at the famed Winged Foot Golf Club. He has been a member of the  President's Council on Growing the Game every year since 2004, for his efforts to increase participation within the Carolinas PGA Section.

Jimmy's mission is to help anyone who has the desire to improve his/her golf skills, from beginner to professional, by focusing on the swing fundamentals, the short game, and the mental challenges of golf and course management. He is dedicated to help people understand the importance of practice and promotes the value of proper etiquette when playing golf.

The Oak Hollow Junior Players Academy is pleased to offer four exciting programs for juniors. Our Grand Slam packages are designed to be flexible for parents; yet provide a fun, safe and structered enviroment for junior players wanting to improve their games.
